Meadowlarks Provide Comfort For Rain Residents

Dec 2, 2011 – At their December meeting at Saticoy Country Club, Meadowlark Service League (MSL) supported RAIN Transitional Living Center by providing coverlets, quilts and bedspreads as well as toys for the kids. Isaac Romero, Children’s Coordinator at RAIN, thanked Meadowlarks for their generosity and said the bedding would be used to provide a warm and cozy room to individuals that are joining RAIN particularly in the cold wintry months to come. Meadowlark Hands Out $200,000 to Non-Profits

Jun 9, 2006 – Despite a tough year for most local fundraising groups hampered by high gas prices, ongoing support for Katrina victims and the skyrocketing cost of area housing, the Meadowlark Service League had a banner year in 2005.The philanthropic group raised more than $200,000 and gave it away last week to dozens of local charities. The league dished out the donations to representatives of 30 nonprofits at a luncheon on June 1 at Las Posas Country Club. The league is a group of about 100 women, mostly residents of Camarillo and Somis, who raise funds for Ventura County charities by hosting three events throughout the year. The three projects are the annual charity tennis tournament and luncheon in March, A Taste of Camarillo in July and the “Homes for the Holidays” home tour in December.Credit: Camarillo AcornRead original...
